Summer Reading: Ed the Wizard

Ed the Wizard presents Reading is Magic

Wednesday, July 29 at 1:00 PM

Reading is Magic demonstrates how inspiration may be found in a book; how a story may change the course of one’s life.

Offering his own magical journey as inspiration to others, Ed’s journey, and inspiration, started with the first Harry Potter story way back in 1998!  His inspiration?  Albus Dumbledore!  That is when “Ed” decided to become “Ed the Wizard” and become a full time Wizard!

Reading is Magic is a fun and lively magic performance full of comedy and suspense.

No registration required. All are welcome!

This program is sponsored in full by UniBank.

Ed the Wizard: Reading is Magic Summer Reading 2026

The Beginnings of Ed the Wizard

Ed the Wizard was inspired by a story character, “Albus Dumbledore,” from the “Harry Potter” series by J.K. Rowling. Using his own collection of magic books and visiting his local library, Ed began to teach himself the art of prestidigitation. Offering his own life story as inspiration to others, Ed the Wizard promotes and encourages the building of reading skills to all of his audience members.

This is his full time vocation, bringing programs to schools and libraries since 2000. So that he may provide new programs each year, he is constantly renewing the skills required, such as balloon twisting, for his craft by reading and studying the art of magic and performing.

He is an award winning performer, taking the title of “Top Banana” and first place for Close up Magic, at the 2013 “Famous Unknown Magician and Clown Conference.” He member of the Society of American Magicians.
