Book Nerds

The Book Nerds are going to open up the fall by reading The Infinite Sadness of Small Appliances by Glenn Dixon. This short, quirky read could not pack a more timely punch.
A roomba and her fellow sentient appliances work together to defend their aging owner from the Grid–wild, right? It echoes Fahrenheit 451, draws on To Kill a Mockingbird, and deals with the theme of artificial intelligence in a way about which every young adult should be thinking.
Book Nerds is a welcoming and affirming young adult book club for kids ages 12-16 who want a safe space to talk about books in a thoughtful and engaging way while eating donuts.

Book Wizards
First Wednesday of the Month
4:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Book Wizards is a book club for Grades 5-8. We meet eight times a year, September-May.
This club allows the kids to recommend the titles of the books that will be read throughout the year. Peer recommendation of titles, broadens the spectrum of genres, and kids often read books that they would never normally chose.

Dungeons and Dragons Club
Every Other Tuesday
4:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Dungeons and Dragons Club is a self-led roleplaying campaign for middle schoolers at the Library which meets every other Tuesday from 4pm to 6pm.
Please note that this is a screen free program. Phones must either be put away or turned in.
Registration is required and space is limited. Please contact jsnook@cwmars.org. Once the group is filled, there will be a waitlist for spots as they become available.

SFPL Game Nights
Every Tuesday Night
5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Join us at the Simon Fairfield Public Library to play some games.
From 5 PM to 8 PM, come play chess, Battletech, Pokemon, Dice Throne, Charty Party, Hot Streak, or bring your own favorite game to show off. Families are welcome–we’ll set up as many tables as we need.
