Diane’s interactive stories of nature and gardening fun include Talking Earthworms, Sprouting seeds and a join-in Story-Song of how the Star in the Apple came to be.

Rainforest Reptile Shows ***
The program will consist of a miniature zoo with 10 to 14 smaller animals in cages that participants can view and ask questions but are unable to handle. The rainforest reptile specialist will also introduce 4 larger animals (including an alligator) telling participants all about the animal being presented and answering any questions that they may have.
This program is designed to inspire young readers to dive into science through up-close animal encounters that inspire and build real world confidence.

Massachusetts Horticultural Society Plantmobile ***
Through this in-person hands-on program MHS seeks to engage guests with the importance of plants, gardens and natural landscapes in their lives and help them to become active growers and gardeners themselves. As America’s first established horticultural society, MHS has been practicing horticulture ‘for the public good’ since 1829.
This program will have two sessions, one at 1:00 PM and one at 2:30 PM. Participants are REQUIRED to sign-up for one of the two sessions and each session is limited to 25 participants each. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis.

Ed the Wizard: Reading is Magic ***
Learn how Ed was inspired by Dumbledore and taught himself to become “Ed the Wizard!”
Hint: By reading books on magic! A fun and lively magic performance full of comedy and suspense; suitable for all ages.

Robert Rivest (Comic Mime) ***
First he’ll entertain us with his mastery of mime, comedy, improv and storytelling. Then, Robert teaches us those skills! Participants learn to express themselves with movement, facial expressions, character voices and laughter games. We will mime audience ideas of how farms grow food that nourishes our bodies and libraries grow ideas that nourish our minds.
This interactive show is a great way for families to share a memorable experience at their library, full of creativity, play, laughter and joy. No registration required. All are welcome!

Ice Cream Social & Prize Giveaway **
All children who participate in the Summer Reading Program (whether they attend Robert Rivest’s program or not) are welcome to attend and enjoy an ice cream after the program, while they wait for their name to be called to choose their prizes.
