The new book on the storywalk is The Pet Potato, written by Losh Lacey and illustrated by Momoko Abe. I picked this book because it totally sounds like something I would do to my kids, but it also happens to have the perfect number of pages for our storywalk. Too Many Pumpkins had too many pages, and cramming it into the stations in September was quite a challenge. This one was a pleasure to deploy–especially with such lovely weather–and it was exciting to meet all the people, horses, and dogs who were also taking advantage of such lovely weather. Everyone I chatted with had nothing but good things to say, and expressed how excited they are when we switch out stories.
Are there any stories YOU would like to see deployed in the storywalk? If you have suggestions, email them to me at jsnook@cwmars.org. Just keep in mind: anything more than 28 pages may require some cutting… Or triple paging the stations as we did with Too Many Pages…I mean, Pumpkins.
