The Summer of 2026 introduced the Adult Summer Reading Program, which was a rousing success. After the program, we asked for patron recommendations on what we could do to make things better. One recommendation – “I would love a place online where I could see some book recommendations from other people in the program.”
Honestly, we loved the recommendation. Now how do we make it work? There are plenty of sites out there: Goodreads, LibraryThing, Fable etc. There are groups on Facebook and Subreddits. However, all of these require usernames, accounts, or profiles. It was important to us that our patrons could leave and view recommendations without any of that.
We are proud to introduce Patron Reads.
Patron Reads can be found at the top of our website on the Menu Bar as well as being accessible straight from our Catalog.

Click here and you can Leave A Review on your most recent reads.
- First – It is your choice what name you leave. You can leave your name, your initials, a pseudonym or no name at all. We do ask that whatever name you chose to use, you continue to use it every time you review a book. This will allow other patrons to search for reviews by your name
- Second – Title and author are required (as we quickly learned from the summer reading program that authors love to share titles
- Third – Give your best guess at what genre it belongs to
- Fourth – Rate it on a scale of 1 to 5 stars (yes you must rate it)
- And Fifth – You have 250 characters to tell us what you thought about the book – yes, I know I’m cruel, only 250 characters!!!
Once you are done, click submit and off your review goes to be screened by the staff. Please note that we reserve the right to not publish a review if found in violation of our Patron Behavior Policies. Reviews will be posted once a week.
Or if you are looking for your next read, click here to visit our Book Reviews page to find out what other patrons have been reading. The reviews can be sorted by Reviewer, Title, Author, Genre or Stars, as well as being searchable. Currently, the reviews are going to be separated into months. This may change depending on the volume of reviews that we receive or if we find that there is a better method for separating the reviews.

We can’t wait to see what you’ve been reading – the Good, the Bad and the Ugly!
Happy Reading and Happy Reviewing!
