Adult Summer Reading 2026 Recap!

Adult Summer Reading June 22-August 13 Plant a Seed, Read iRead, iREADprogram.org

Three weeks before the Children’s Summer Reading Program began, Lisa turned to Justin and said, “I want to do an Adult Summer Reading Program!” His response, “Sure, go for it!”

So in less than three weeks, Lisa managed to create the Inaugural Adult Summer Reading Program. And it was a success! Since it was our first time, we thought we would try a couple of different ways for participants to play.

We had a standard logging sheet as well as a BINGO card. For every book the 52 participants read or BINGO square they completed, they were given a leaf to place on the vine-covered pillars. After two months, the pillars disappeared as 312 book-filled leaves covered the vines. Click here to view a PDF of the Summer Participant Reads!

Each completed book added a raffle ticket to the bucket and on the final night of Summer Reading, participants were invited to attend an Ice Cream Social and Prize Give Away. While enjoying some delicious ice cream treats, tickets were drawn and SFPL tote bags, mugs, hats and notebooks were won. We even had some lucky participants win a “TRUST IN JUSTIN” SFPL t-shirt.

And now that we know that the Adult Summer Reading program is a success and you want more, keep an eye out for our
Winter Reading BINGO!
