What a weekend! The fun started at Friday night’s WooSox game where I was honored to receive a $2,500 check from Unibank. They graciously donated funds in commemoration of the 250th to libraries throughout the Blackstone Valley. To honor the gift in the spirit in which it was given, I tried to identify every hold on books and audiobooks in Libby that pertain to American history or modern affairs and fill them immediately. So if your 4th of July reading got to you sooner than you expected, thank Unibank! I also received a cool hat:
On Saturday morning, we set up a booth for the parade afterparty at Soldier’s Field. I brought the stuffies from last year’s Museum on Main Street election and spent the day collecting puzzle pieces for our Douglas Undivided mural. The real question being asked is when Bald-E’s term is up. A patron actually collected 16 signatures on a petition to have another election this fall, so stay tuned…

One last thing, and I promise I will be done. If you are 12 years old or up and have interest in playing board games at the Library on Tuesday evenings between 4pm and 8pm, please email jsnook@cwmars.org with what you are interested in playing (or have a parent do it). I’m looking to get enough folks showing up at the table weekly to play games like Risk, Axis and Allies, Dice Throne, Battletech, or Scythe. But if folks would rather have multiple games of chess and checkers going, that’s the direction we’ll go. Please email me what games you would like to see available at a library game night!
