Normally I would be updating the Storywalk on the SNETT around this time, but I want Honor Flight to remain up until Memorial Day. It’s pretty rainy outside, anyway. On that topic, May 23 is the town’s Memorial Day parade! It starts at 11am, and you should be able to see it from the Library lawn. The Friends of the Library will be selling used books from 9am to noon, but we’ll stick around after the parade if people are still browsing. We want to find new homes for as many of these books as possible before donating them to Bay State Books and replenishing the stocks before Oktoberfest. Since our May the 4th scifi book sale was a flop, there will be a LOT of science fiction in this sale.
And plants! There will be plants! If you have any plants you would like to donate to the Friends for the sale, there are pots behind the Library (under the basement stairs) you can take to fill up with bulbs, seedlings, or what-have-you. Just leave them behind the Library in the week leading up to May 23 and we’ll try our best to keep them alive until Saturday. Please label them, if you don’t mind, so that were aren’t selling mystery plants.
Another unique opportunity coming up is one to join an in-person tabletop roleplaying group for adults! On May 27 at 4:30, a patron will be leading session 0 of Vampire the Masquerade. If you can come grab a copy and read really fast, you could stick around and discuss the book Party of Liars by Kelsey Cox with the Plot Twisters at 6:30…
Don’t be a stranger. We’re here till 8pm Monday through Thursday. And it’s all free!
Thanks for Reading,
Justin Snook
