Mayor of Douglas Election

As Douglas welcomes the Smithsonian Institution’s Museum On Main Street’s exhibit Voices and Votes: Democracy in America, we are about to hold a very important election ourselves. The election for Mayor of Douglas!

Starting now through the end of the exhibit (October 25, 2025), you and your family and friends will have the chance to meet these six exciting candidates, get to know their backgrounds, what they stand for, and what plans they have for our common.

The election has taken over the Storywalk on the SNETT for the next six weeks. Instead of our usual story, you will get a chance to learn about the Bald-E, Dougie Bear, Triceratina, Chirri Cheetah, Puffy McPloof and Sir Gooseneck Ganderfield. But do not worry, if you are unable to make it to the Storywalk, you can visit our Election Page and learn about the candidates there.

Once you learn about the candidates and their ideas, and maybe even take place in some healthy debates, you can vote for them either at the Voices and Votes Exhibit that is being held at the Municipal Center Gymnasium or at the Simon Fairfield Public Library. And voting is open to all ages – after all, EVERYONE’S VOICE MATTERS!

We will announce the new Mayor of Douglas at the end of the Voices and Votes: Democracy in America!

“Voting is not only our right—it is our power.”
