Laptops are available to check out at the circulation desk for use anywhere in the Library. They are equipped with Ubuntu. You can print from them, and they wipe and reset every time you close the screen for your security.
Chromebooks are available for 14-day take-home loans to adult patrons with Library cards in good standing.
Mobile Hotspots are available for 30 day loans.
Printing, Copying, and Scanning are available as a self-service at our multi-function printer. You can print from one of our laptops or directly from a USB drive. You can copy or scan from a scanner glass or a document feeder. Scanning is free. The first page of printing and copying is also free, after which we ask for $0.10 per page ($0.25 for full-page color photo prints).
Faxing is available as a self-service as long as the document isn’t excessively long. The first page is free, after which we ask for $0.25 per page. Please note: your documents have to be neat, dry, and free of staples, and even then you want to keep an eye on the document auto-feeder to make sure it doesn’t grab more than one page at a time.
Passes are available on a first come, first-served bases. We have:
- 2 Free Massachusetts State Parks Passes
- 2 Free Massachusetts State Police Museum and Learning Center Passes
- Good for up to 2 Adults (under age 16 always free)
- 1 Free Samuel Slater Experience pass
- Good for up to 2 Adults and 2 Children per visit
- 1 Discounted Salem Witch Museum Pass
- Adults $13.50 and kids 2-14 $11.25 except for in October
Notary services are available free of charge by appointment. Email jsnook@cwmars.org or call the Library to make one. Bring witnesses if you need them!

Libby
Is a Free app that can be accessed on any device (including your personal computer) that allows patrons to borrow e-books, audiobooks, and magazines. Patrons are able to read offline, sync their reading progress across devices, and listen to audiobooks in their car.

After downloading Libby, you can sign into the app with your library card.
When it asks for a PIN, use the last four digits of the phone number you have on file with the library. If you have trouble with your PIN, you can contact us.
To get the best of Libby, we recommend you add other libraries to your Libby app. The following library systems are also on Libby, and allow you to browse and borrow from their networks, too!

To add these libraries to your Libby app:
Repeat as desired
Click the menu icon at the bottom of the screen (the three little lines) it will bring you to ‘Your Libraries’
Click ‘Add Library’
Search for any of the above networks, chose the network, and ‘Sign In With My Card’
You will need to sign in as a Partner Library – we are CW Mars Patrons
Enter your Library Card Number and PIN/Password
Click ‘Next’
Kanopy
Is an on-demand video streaming service that partners with public libraries and universities to provide free access to a curated collection of independent films, documentaries, and classic cinema.

After downloading the app, create your account. You’ll be asked to enter your library card number when signing up. (You must have card issued by the Simon Fairfield Public Library).
