1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

The concept is simple, the rewards are priceless–just read any book with your child until you get to 1000! Seem hard? It’s not! Just 1 book a night is 1,095 books over 3 years, and it doesn’t have to be a different book every night. You can count the same title more than once! And honestly, every child has that one book that they want to read time and time again. Most children don’t start kindergarten until 5, so there’s plenty of time.

The key is engagement. Make it exciting! Use voices. Get animated. Experience the story with your children instead of just reading it to them. It isn’t just reading time, it’s bonding time, too! When you sign up, you’ll immediately receive instructions, a sturdy cloth bookbag, a free book of your choice to get started, some bookmarks, and a log sheet for the first 100 books. For every 100 books after that, return with your completed log sheets for the following prizes:

  • 100: Pick an item out of the treasure chest
  • 200: Pick an item out of the treasure chest
  • 300: Pick an item out of the treasure chest
